Stay Kind,
Stay Humble.
Welcome to Stay Humble Psychiatry
At Stay Humble Psychiatry, we believe mental health care should feel like sitting down with someone who truly sees you—not rushing through a checklist in a crowded system. That belief is woven into everything we do, and it starts with Tayla Hewins, PMHNP, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who has spent years supporting people through some of the most vulnerable chapters of their lives.
Her clinical experience, paired with her grounded Maine roots, gives our practice a steady, down-to-earth feel—one that invites honesty, calm, and real connection. When you walk through our doors (or connect with us virtually), you’re not met with pressure or judgment. You’re met with curiosity, compassion, and a genuine desire to understand what you’ve been carrying.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, mood changes, burnout, or simply that quiet feeling of “I’m not myself lately,” Tayla takes the time to listen to your story and build a plan that makes sense for your life. Care here is collaborative, thoughtful, and human—ranging from medication management to supportive conversation, biopsychosocial assessment, and practical tools that help you feel more grounded day to day.
We don’t rush appointments, we don’t speak in complicated jargon, and we don’t pretend healing happens overnight. Instead, we focus on small, steady steps forward and a relationship built on trust and understanding.
Stay Humble Psychiatry exists because people deserve a space where they feel seen, heard, and supported—and we’re honored to create that space for our community, one person at a time.
Our Philosophy:
Stay Humble. Stay Human.
Stay Humble Psychiatry is built on a simple belief:
Mental health care should feel like a partnership, not an appointment slot.
We know that reaching out for help can be uncomfortable or even scary. That’s why we focus on:
Listening first – Your story, history, and goals matter.
Respecting your pace – No pressure, no shaming, no rushing.
Individualized care – Two people with the same diagnosis may need very different approaches.
Real-world solutions – Support that fits your life, not the other way around.
Humility is at the heart of the practice name: we don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we promise to walk alongside you as we find what works—together.
What you can expect from Tayla:
-
A calm, caring presence
-
Clear explanations without medical jargon
-
Space to talk honestly about what you’re going through
-
Collaborative treatment decisions made with you, not for you
